What is the difference between combo drive and double-layer SuperDrive?

I assume you are requested equipment on Macs here. The combo drive can read both CDs and DVDs, but only write CDs. The SuperDrive to read and write to both CDs and DVDs. Personally, given the size of a lot Mac related stuff, I would not buy a Mac without a SuperDrive.
