How do i know which heatsink/fan to get for my CPU?
Mine current one stopped spinning recently. How do i know which heatsink/fan fits into my mobo?
Heat sinks and fans are sold by what processor you have. If you know what the processors is in the computer, and what socket type (socket 775, 478, 939, and 754 for example), you can easily swap the cooling set. Be aware that when you do, there is likely to be some “gel” that bonds the heat sink to the processor. Remove the processor carefully and clean it off. There are products that will help you do this. When you replace the heat sink, you will probably have to apply more cooling gel when you set the cooling unit. Instructions will be provided with whatever cooling set you purchase. GL
